The Touring Club of Akureyri

The Touring Club of Akureyri (Ferđafélag Akureyrar, FFA), a branch of the

Iceland Touring Association, was founded in 1936.

The Club aims to promote and organize travelling in Iceland, especially in Northern Iceland.

In the Club´stouring program, a variety of tours is on offer: one day tours (walking or skiing), weekend tours (Friday evening till Sunday) and longer tours, lasting up to seven days. Bookings should be made at least a week in advance, but at least a month in advance for the longer tours where a deposit is required. Departure for the tours is usually from the office.

In tours lasting more than one day, accommodation is mostly in mountain huts owned by the Touring Club of Akureyri or other similar clubs. Participants must bring their own provisions, except in the "Askja-trail" tours.

The Touring Club of Akureyri reserves the right to alter or cancel tours as necessary. The Club accepts no liability for participants or their personal belongings
The Club owns seven huts in popular mountain areas in Northern Iceland. There are camping places by three of the huts. For hut reservations, please contact the office of the Club.
