Accommodation conditions

It is necessary to reserve cabin accommodation and pay a confirmation fee at the time of booking. To secure membership, an annual fee must be paid before payment is made.

    It is necessary to reserve cabin accommodation and a confirmation fee must be paid at the time of booking.


    When booking an order, a claim is created in the bank for the booking confirmation fee and it must be paid no later than two weeks later.


    If the person cancels the booking, they are asked to notify the e-mail address ffa@ffa.is


    Eight weeks before the arrival date, a claim is established in the bank for the final payment, which must be paid within two weeks, i.e. six weeks before arrival date.


    Change fee: 500 ISK per booking for four passengers or more.

  • Cancellation policy

    If cabin accommodation is cancelled, the following rules apply:

    • Confirmation fee is non-refundable
    • Cancellation 7 – 13 days before arrival date: 50% of accommodation fee refunded
    • Cancellation less than 7 days before arrival date: No refund
    • No refunds due to weather, traffic or other natural forces, delays or if the person concerned does not show up
    • Confirmation fee is never refundable
  • Insurance

    Akureyri Travel does not insure its passengers or their luggage. Passengers travel with the company and stay in cabins or at the company's campsites at their own risk. The company encourages people to purchase travel and accident insurance for trips, to be well prepared and to check the weather before setting off.
